Why I keep coming back to Compton Verney
Today we’ve visited one of our favourite places - Compton Verney
If you’ve been following our adventures for a while then you’ll know how much we love the place and go on and on about it.
We’ve been a few times since lockdown restrictions were eased but today was the first time that we’ve seen the Welcome Centre open.
There are signs at the door that ask for only 8 people to be in the building at a time and there was hand gel on a table that you were able to use before entering the building.
The girl on the desk asked me to scan my card myself so she didn’t have to handle it at all. As I left the desk she sprayed the area before the next person was served.
Today was our first time using the toilets. They were cleaned after every person using them. All handles and touch areas were cleaned which was amazing to see. There was also hand gel on a table outside the toilets to use if you wanted to.
The house is now open which is where we used the toilets. The whole area is clearly signed and has arrows on the floor so that a one way system is in place. Unfortunately we did see a couple of people not adhering to the arrows which was a shame as we are really trying to teach our little ones how to do it properly.
The cafe isn’t open which is a shame - not even for a take away coffee.
The sand pits and the woodland play area are open but we didn’t venture to them today. We’re not quite ready to take that step yet. We spent our time playing hide and seek in the meadow and playing pooh sticks on the bridge. The whole of Compton Verney was so lovely and peaceful - well until we arrived
There were people there, of course, but it never felt busy in any way. It’s on our ‘safe’ list.
They’ve definitely got it right.
