Cotswold Lavender
Take a walk in the purple fields
Yesterday we took a trip to the beautiful lavender fields in the Cotswolds - Cotswold Lavender. If you’ve not been before then they are amazing and well worth a visit.
The fields are huge. There is masses and masses of room for little ones (and big ones) to run around. Our three loved running up and down the aisles and playing hide and seek. We got some beautiful pictures of them running wild.
There are lots of picnic benches dotted around the site so it’s the perfect place to take a picnic. We didn’t have the weather on our side yesterday (it was VERY windy and drizzly) otherwise we definitely would have taken one.
There is a little kiosk selling ice cream, snacks, drinks and lavender gifts. All payment is by card only.
The site would be suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs (we did see a couple there) but you’d only be able to go around the outside of the lavender. The aisles would be too narrow and bumpy. A baby sling or carrier would be the best option for little ones.
It was very easy to socially distance in the fields as they are so big and spacious. There is a one way system at the entrance to get in and again it is card.
Tickets are £4 for adults, £2 for children under 15 years and children Under 5 are free.
Parking is free and there are a number of portaloos in the car park.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead and their owners clean up after them.
No booking is required.
The fields are open until the first week of August before harvest begins.
