A recently refurbished park

Here's another park for you that we visited on our park crawl.

We are so lucky that we have a ton of great parks locally and we're loving exploring them.

This time we visited the newly refurbished park in Bishops Tachbrook, near Leamington Spa. Someone shared photos of it on their Instagram page and it looked great so we went to take a look.

We followed the Sat Nav and found it pretty easily. There were signs for the BMX track and the Sports and Social Club so we followed them and found it perfectly.

We were the only ones in the park when we got there which was a big bonus. It got a little busier but it was in no way busy and overrun with people at all.

We spoke to one of the local residents while we were there and he said that once school has finished in the afternoon and at weekends it is very busy so pick your timings wisely if you want it to be a little quieter.

The weather wasn't on our side and we were the only ones who braved a torrential storm while hiding under the equipment. Never did my younger self think that I'd be doing that at 40!

The whole park is fenced in which is a bonus if you have a runner like my eldest was when he was younger.

Age Group

There is different equipment that is aimed at all ages. There's something for everyone and a good mix for all ages.

Equipment

  • Toddler Climbing Frame with slide and telescope lookout.
  • Toddler Swings
  • Rocking/Bouncing horse
  • Tractor with Steering Wheel
  • Music Making Area
  • Mini Roundabout.
  • Sunken trampoline
  • Zip Wire
  • Rocking Rope Swing
  • Junior Swing
  • Parent and Child Swing
  • Round Net Swing
  • Climbing Frame with climbing wall, chain stairs and bridge, climbing slope, climbing net and tunnel slide.
  • Rotating Disc Swing with disabled seat
  • Gym Swing
  • Benches and Picnic Benches
  • Playing Field

Things to Watch Out For

  • The slope up to the zip wire was wet and very slippery.
  • People have been 'disposing' their rubbish in the base of the sunken trampoline which is such a shame.

Toilets

There are no toilets.

Picnic Area

There is a big field outside of the park and picnic benches within the playground. We had a picnic on one of the picnic benches. I took bin bags with us to sit on so that we didn't get soggy bottoms.

Parking

Parking was easy for us but I can imagine that after school and at weekends that it would be more difficult. Please be mindful of residents and park responsibly if you visit.

The park is a really lovely and the refurbishment has been well thought out with something for everyone.
