Farnborough Village Playground

In the heart of the pretty village of Farnborough

Farnborough is a pretty village on the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire border that has an awesome Castle/Fort and a separate Toddler area.

This park is a new one for us but after seeing it on a friend's Instagram stories we knew we had to visit.

It's set in a big field that is fenced.

The only massive downside of the park is that there is hardly any parking. Parking is on the roadside so please park sensibly. Please be mindful of residents and park responsibly if you visit.

We were at the park for about an hour and were the only ones there the whole time.

The main body of the park is an impressive big wooden fort/castle. Inside there are bridges and climbing nets with slides and a climbing wall on the outside. There's also a brilliant place to hide.

Across the field there is also a little toddler park.

There a small climbing frame with a wobbly bridge, tunnel and slide. There are also toddler swings.

Age Group

There are two areas to the park - one area is aimed at younger children and the other is aimed at older children. The whole park is fenced and gated.

Equipment

Toddler Park
  • Wooden Climbing Frame with wobbly bridge, slide, climbing net and tunnel.
  • Toddler Swings
  • Circular Rope Swing
Castle Park
  • Big wooden castle/fort with climbing nets, wobbly bridge, wobbly steps, slide, spiral slide, ladder, hideout and climbing wall.
  • Zip Wire

Things to Watch Out For

  • The castle/fort was wet and slippery - there are signs but just beware.
  • The climbing wall on the castle looked a bit tired. Lots of the boulders were missing.
  • Keep an eye on littler ones in the castle/fort. They need to have good balance and be good climbers to attempt it.

Toilets

There are no toilets so go prepared.

Picnic Area

There are a couple of picnic benches next to the toddler park. The park is in a field so you could take a picnic blanket.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed in the park.

Parking

There is hardly any parking. Parking is on the roadside so please park sensibly. Please be mindful of residents and park responsibly if you visit.

We had a brilliant time and had great fun playing knights and dragons.

Please be considerate when you're out for the day. If the bin is overflowing then take your rubbish home with you.
